When a pet passes,
the grief can be unbearable.
Only recently have we begun to understand that pet grief can feel just as traumatic, and sometimes even more so, than grieving a human relationship.
The bond we share with our animals is rooted in pure, unconditional love. They weren’t just our pet... they were a part of us.
Many grieving pet parents also feel lost, alone, confused, and even “crazy,” because there is still so little understanding of how devastating and destabilizing pet grief is.
Nothing can take away the pain of losing a soulmate animal. But the Blue Healer community can help you feel less lost, less alone, and more supported as you move through this time.

This Is My Life's Work
My name is Dr. Zoë Lumiere, and supporting people through grief and emotional healing has been my life’s work.
I’ve been in private practice for more than a decade and counseling people for over twenty years, helping individuals navigate trauma, grief, and emotional healing.
My own journey began when my mum died when I was 14. Without the support I needed to process that loss, I pushed the grief down and tried to move forward. But unprocessed grief doesn’t disappear. Over time it showed up as chronic health challenges and painful relationship patterns.
Eventually those struggles led me to seek deeper emotional and spiritual healing. As I did, my health improved, my life began to rebalance, and I eventually met and married the love of my life. Those experiences became the foundation of the work I now share with others.
So I thought I understood grief...
and then my puppy passed.
After years of helping people through trauma and grief, I thought I was prepared for "losing" a pet. I was wrong.
Ellie was neurologically disabled, and caring for her opened my heart in ways I never imagined. When she left her body, the grief broke me open in an entirely new way.
But something else happened too.
Her passing awakened a deeper connection with the animal kingdom and with my Rainbow daughter Ellie in Spirit.
That experience became the seed for 'The Blue Healer: A Somatic and Spiritual Guide for Healing Pet Grief' and the work I now share with grieving animal lovers around the world.
While many people know me because of my famous dog Fenix, it is my Rainbow daughter Ellie who inspired this book, this work, and what is becoming a new movement in how we understand and heal pet grief.

Why I See Pet Grief as a Gift...
a Sacred Rite of Passage
I no longer see pet grief as an obstacle or a detour from life. I see it as a sacred rite of passage, one that can open a bridge into a deeper relationship with your greatest life guide: your soulmate animal, now in Spirit.
I’ve also experienced the pain of both repressing grief and endlessly recycling it.
When grief isn’t understood or released, it can create unnecessary emotional, mental, and even physical suffering.
Suppressed grief often shows up in our health and relationships. And when we replay the pain again and again, we unknowingly keep punishing ourselves instead of allowing healing to unfold.
So now I choose to serve those brave enough to face and heal their pet grief, allowing it to become a path to healing their life and discovering the purpose their soulmate animal came to awaken within them.

About The Blue Healer™ Method
Through my work with clients, and through my own journey with grief, I began to see that pet grief follows a natural healing rhythm. When we understand that rhythm and allow ourselves to move through it with compassion, grief begins to transform.
The Blue Healer Method is a somatic and spiritual approach to pet grief that helps people move through loss without suppressing their feelings or getting stuck in endless suffering.
It guides grieving pet parents through four natural phases of healing:
1. Shock & Survival
The immediate aftermath of loss, when the nervous system is overwhelmed and the body needs safety, rest, and support.
2. Re-Entry
As the reality of the loss settles in, waves of grief arise and we begin learning how to live in a world where our animal’s physical body is no longer present.
3. Active Healing
In this phase we begin releasing suppressed emotions, transforming guilt and self-judgment, and allowing grief to move through the body.
4. Integration & Connection
Here the relationship evolves. Instead of only experiencing loss, we begin to experience the love that still exists and reconnect with our beloved animal in Spirit.
The goal of the Blue Healer Method is not to “get over” your animal.
It is to help you transform grief into a deeper relationship with the love that still exists between you.
